ABOUT US

The Topsy Foundation US Inc, a not for profit incorporated in Delaware, is committed to helping prevent and alleviate the consequences of HIV and AIDS in South Africa: with a particular emphasis on children and Early Chilhood Development.

 

Our key aim is to support a sister organisation, the Topsy Foundation South Africa. The base of operations is in part of the Province of Mpumalanga. The Province is home to one of the country's best known tourist attractions - the Kruger National Park, with its opportunities for luxury holidays. That is far removed (300 miles) from the poor underdevloped area in which Topsy works. Here there is no public transport and few work opportunities, with unemployment standing at 37%.

Topsy SA is the only non-profit organisation of this kind active in the rural communities it serves. For its modest size it has achieved remarkable results during the 17 years it has been active.

 

Topsy SA’s accounts are audited by PricewaterhouseCoopers.

 

The focus in SA is on children, their carers and families, specifically through:

 

• An Early Childhood Development project covering some 2,000 children;

• The provision of food security to communities threatened by malnutrition
